About

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I study political behavior, public policy, and political methodology. I pursue three connected lines of inquiry: I develop measures of political judgment and use them to study mass political attitudes and knowledge; examine how citizens’ memories, perceptions, and evaluations shape political preferences and behavior; and analyze how encounters with public policies and institutions affect political attitudes and behavior.

My research has been published in the Journal of Law and Courts, Journal of Politics in Latin America, Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review, Politics & Religion, and Social Science Quarterly. I am also a coauthor of (Mis)Understanding the Other Side: How Americans Explain Opposing Political Views (Temple University Press), scheduled for publication in April 2027.
